Van Dam from the Netherlands created this cartoon about the world walking through 2016. They used labels and a lot of symbolism and exaggeration. The world is in the form of a human being and you can see that it is about to walk through the forest labeled 2016 which represents the new year. One can see all the threats and dangers that are lurking in the forest (new year) as the world begins its journey through it. Like ISIS and Donald Trump. Putin can also be seen here as well as others that pose a threat to the world this new year.

1. The event would be gun laws backfiring on America.
2. Uncle Sam’s sleeve and a gun are presented.
3. Labeling is used with “The Right To Bear Arms” written on the gun. Symbolism is used with the sleeve to represent Uncle Sam.
4. The artist view is obviously a view of someone who doesn’t think the right to bear arms is a good idea for America. That the right can be just used against America.
5. The cartoon is somewhat persuasive. It gives a different perspective of gun laws.
6. I honestly don’t know what the artist could have done better.
